GROUNDHOG REDUCES CARBON FOOTPRINT IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:
-the rubber soles are comprised of 25% recycle rubber. This reduces the amount of virgin petroleum based material.
-The adhesives used are water based cements instead of chemical based. The bonding is just as durable as chemical cement but is far less hazardous during their manufacture and for the consumer.
-Groundhog uses fabric linings made from processed Taiwan bamboo,made into yarn which is woven into the fabric. This charcoal bamboo resists bacteria,reduces odour and fungal infection and provides superior insulation.
-The white tanned leather uppers are totally chemical free with the dyes being produced from vegetable dyes. This means the hide contains less allergens.
-The packaging is made from recycled fibres and they ship their goods via sea carriage to minimise transportation environmental impact.
-Even the moisture absorbent sachet is charcoal as compared to silica.
