Giving Hope

Today was one of our favourite days of the year at Wellies headquarters because today was the day we got to load up the Salvation Army Truck with thousands of our kid's wellies! And it’s all thanks to loyal wellies customers, thank you!

Wellies Online have been supporting the Salvation Army since 2010, however, this has always been something we just did behind the scenes. Well, we’ve convinced the Welly Queen to let us share Wellies Online commitment to giving back to our community. Perhaps it was a perception that it’s ‘un-Australian’ to brag about one's good deeds or a belief that charitable deeds should be done secretly and without acknowledgment. We have decided to be more transparent with our support for local charity and we think our customers would be pleased to know who they are supporting by shopping with Wellies Online.

The Salvation Army is about giving hope where it is needed most. They help people who are struggling with homelessness, addiction, disadvantage or family crisis. They are active in our local community here in Geelong, all the big cities and can be found in country towns and outback cattle stations around Australia. Today we were privileged to donate four thousand three hundred and twenty pairs of children’s wellies with a retail value of just over $150,000.00. The proceeds of these donated wellies will contribute to supporting the great and appreciated work the Salvation Army does in our community.
